1846	US takes a small settlement called Yerba Buena, which we now know as San Francisco.
1868	The 14th Amendment to the United States Constitution is ratified guaranteeing African Americans full citizenship and all persons in the United States due process of law.
1877	the All England Croquet and Lawn Tennis Club began its first lawn tennis tournament at Wimbledon, then an outer-suburb of London.
1880	Paul Broca, French physician and anatomist died
1933	Oliver Sacks, English-American neurologist, chemist, and author is born
1981	Donkey Kong was released, marking the debut of Nintendo’s future mascot, Mario
2001	Scientists discover why we are here
